There is a theory that the 2nd wheel turning in the opposite direction cancels gyroscopic force of the first one. I remember a motocycle design that spun the front break rotors in the oposite direction to counter gyroscopic force for a quicker turn in. To bad the thing was way too complicated and weighed a ton.
