I've been using Dropbox (www.dropbox.com) for backup. 2GB free, backs up everything instantly online and to any computer that I have it installed on. Very user-friendly, works across operating systems, and even does version control if you need to revert back to an old file. You've got to find another solution for big photos and videos, but for most files it's perfect.
