DISCLAIMER: I only know enough to be dangerous! (It helps me to remember that!)
I wanted a large drive for video storage and backup. Investigation showed that I could get 2 TB for about $100 in a Seagate USB 2.0, and another $20 for a Seagate hardware adapter to USB 3.0. I also needed an upgraded USB 3.0 PCI card for my computer that cost $30. Later investigation shows that the hard drive is capable of slightly faster speed than the PCI card. Seagate provided the auto backup software with the drive – incremental or complete. I also have a copy of Norton Ghost that does a sector by sector copy that allegedly allows you to reconstruct a failed system and drive. I hope I am never able to verify that for you!
