Thanks Joey, a lot of the GS850 parts are the same, even GS750 so
there's stuff out there. I'm still working on mine but getting
there gradually. Graham

Graham,
I've got nothing extra. I'm actually dealing with a dead
tach right now - cable is apparently a wee too short and won't stay
in. Have another one that came with the bike - even shorter!
Been considering adding a pair of daytime running lights
as markers on the front - got my eye on some from
SuperBrightLeds.com - $20 plus shipping. 60 mA load.

Joey, have you got any extra parts for your GS1000? If so let me
know what you've got that you're willing to part with, Graham

All,
Today was my first 'big' day on the GS-1000 - 249 Miles
today.
My original Route was supposed to be 320, but got cut
short owing to a late start and running long at a customers place
early in the day.
Here is the truncated route - which doesn't take into account the
Loop Road at Acadia National Park - or some additional sight
seeing in the Bar Harbor area: http://mapq.st/keoPN8
First things first - Let me recommend something to you all
- if you haven't ridden the Loop Road at Acadia National Park - Do
it. Bikes are half price admission - $5 for a seven day pass. I'm
going back before my pass runs out :-) Its arguably the prettiest
road in Maine, legendary around the East Coast and is 25-35 MPH
the entire way, two lanes and one way around the loop. Great for
bikes, since nothing is going to come at you while you have your
head gawking at the scenery.
I took a bunch of photos - both of the trip and stock
stuff for an upcoming Calendar I plan to produce.

The first two shots are of the interior of Geddy's Pub -
Bar Harbor - the license plates are enough to keep me coming back
- add the wood fired pizza oven and the great burgers - I plan to
swing in again soon :-)
The next shot is of a ship (sorry - I don't know my
nautical terminology - Paul Annen wanna help here?) in Bar Harbor.
Next two are of the Harbor and boats.
The next shot was taken from the Acadia National Park Loop
road - and overlooks the Atlantic.
The next shot is primarily for Kyle - it proves that you
can drive a car from Texas north of I-10 - and contrary to that
old Maine saying - You Can Get there from Here :-)
Next - This is the view out the Windshield of the GS-1000.
After that last shot - I began to experiment more with
shooting with one hand as I rode with the other. I don't recommend
it in traffic - nor would I attempt it on a road with traffic
coming at me. This next shot was the first attempt - you can see
the top of the Canon Powershot I use as my 'secondary' camera.
The shot in the Mirror was taken while moving - not bad
for one handed shooting :-)
The 1800cc GoldWing and trailer pulled up beside me on the
Loop road - friendly folk - they waived :-)
The next shot is of an extremely handsome guy - me. :-)
Shot that in a rest area along Route 1. Camera is on a stone post.
The next to the last shot is of the 'Welcome to Machias'
sign - a very nice town on Rt. 1. Famous for the Blueberry
Festival, there are a lot of great people around there.
The last shot is sort of a 'huh' shot - That is the
smallest DOT Rest Area I have ever seen. I'm pretty sure it is the
smallest in the state - maybe the nation. :-)
Fun day - and its already tomorrow :-) Can't wait to go
again!
