That hose should have a plug in the bottom of it and now and then you should remove the plug to drain gunk (oil, blow by gases and water vapor/condensation) from the engine that goes from an outlet in the cam cover to the air box.

Carbs must be surgical clean.... Make shure every jet, port and passage flows well when putting cleaner through...... The carbs are the heart of the bike
