20 years ago i was on my way home doing 80 at 2am when a crown vic
going the other direction turned around. no lights but he was in
pursuit. so i dropped 2 gears full throttle and popped the clutch. 130
here we go. big smile. i have dusted this guy. then i look in my
mirror. not easy at 130. he is a mile and a quarter and gaining fast.
no more smile. that means he is doing at least 160. luckily my turn is
only a half mile a road called devils backbone because it is so curvy.
i know it like the back of my hand. so i kill the ignition and gear
down for the turn so there are no brake lights. it works. after the
turn i turn on the ignition and pop the clutch. he sees me but over
shoots the turn. 1 mile to my house but i still have not completely
lost him. just bought myself some time. i pass my house and take a few
curves. there is a long straight away with a big curve at the end. it
is about 1 mile long so i am flying. i am afraid to even look at my
mirror but i do. yep. he is still there and gaining fast. i look back
at the road and oh crap. i am in the turn to fast. maxed out on
throttle to be exact. i lean the bike to the right with me leaning to
the left. that is how we do it on dirt bikes. i can see the tires half
on the road and half off. 2 more inches and i am toast. i make the
turn. i kill the ignition again and gear down. i coasted into a yard
with a big oak tree and stopped. silence at first. then i could here
my iron horse crackel from the heat as if it were a horse at the end
of a race. then a single cricked chirpped next to me. then vrooom. the
dredded crown vic went passed. i cranked up my trusted steed and
gallopped home. i pulled in to the driveway pretty fast and parked
behind the house. my brother new something was up and came out. i told
him what was up. so we sat and waited. i had about enough time to
light my much needed cigarette when i see the dredded crown vic
rolling toward our house slowly like christine and just then my mom
turned on the porch light to see what was going on. i yelled turn out
that f****** light in a maner my mother is not use to. i expained it
to her later. she turned out the light and went back to bed. me and my
brother watched him circle in front of my house twice and then leave.
that was his way of saying i know who you are. so crown vic vs 750 v45
magna. crown vic hands down. morale: dont do it! and if you do good
luck.
