I'd take them apart and give the calipers and pins a good cleaning. then 
reinstall with new silicon brake grease on the backs of the pads and slider 
pins.

Brake dust is another contributor to squeakiness.  However, I'm not sure how
common that would be with a bike (nothing really enclosing the brakes like a
wheel on a car).  And, yep, some material is just squeaky.  Racing brake
pads are like that.  When they are cold, they squeak a lot until they heat
up to their normal operating temps.

Another contributor is the metal on metal contact of the pads and the
calipers.  However, I don't know how similar these are to a car's disk
brakes.
