The caps that are riveted on the ends of the muffler. If you drill out the rivets they can be removed and modified to increase the sound and reduce back pressure. He wants to completely removing the pipe that is on the inside of the end cap but is afraid that it might be too loud. Thus he would like a spare set so he could always go back to stock.
