you can use a toggle switch mounted discretely anywhere you want. I use a 3 position switch so I still have an On, off and park position. Depending on the set up if the key is used for the fork lock, you can leave it functional and not worry about someone taking your bike... Wiring is pretty easy and took me a total of <$5 and maybe an hour... I mounted mine right behind where the passengers leg passes over the plastic fairing...
