mmm, I'm not sure. Most of the good batteries I have in bikes, NHs
and others are more than 12.4 at rest, some close to 13, some at
5.65. One that couldn't turn over my VMax was over 13v at rest. I
replaced it with a new battery that measured 12.8 v at rest and works
fine. Under about 12.3 they begin to sulphate I understand which
leads to a dead battery, Graham

The voltmeter I installed on my hi-miles NH shows anywhere from
12.3-12.6v parked, then on initial highway speed, first jumps to 15
or even 15.1v, after a minute dropping to 14.7 to 14.9 for the rest
of the ride. except when stopped at a light, when I see 13.2v.
Everything seems to work ok, but are these readings a sign of
trouble to come? And if so, what components would be suspect? Thanks,
