Had a similar issue on the dinghy and the big boat. Check the conections. Take
them all off clean them with a wire brush or sand paper and re-tighten. Pay
close attention to the high amp conections and grounds

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] '83 Nighthawk 550 starting problems

I just checked out a friend's CB550SC. It starts and runs fine but
once it has warmed up and run a while it won't restart after
switching off the ignition. It turns over real slow. He is able to
bump start it easily. But once the engine is cold it starts again
fine. We checked the charging system and it is fine. He rebuilt the
starter motor. He put in a new battery last year and has kept it on
a maintainer. If it was a bad battery why would it turn over like it
should after the bike is cold. I thought it may have been the
charging system and the battery recovered after sitting for a while
and thus the bike would start. Any suggestions, any one had similar
problem? Graham
