Consider the following.

Apple
HD
Scientology
and to a smaller degree Chevy.

Then google Jones town. Tis a very sad thing.

When I see a "status" HD or Mac owner I always ask what flavor of Koolaid it came with.

But you also have to consider... HD was in chapter 11 protection when they started the marketing campaign and added the non motorcycle product lines. Apx the same time and reason the 700s was created.

Branding is a worrisome phenomenon. When image is more potent than substance, it's a measure of marketing's strangle hold on consumers as well as how easily consumers can be manipulated. Bill S.

Regardless of what you think about their bikes, you have to admit they've won when it comes to branding. Not just mudflaps, decals, and tshirts, but ppl regularly get their logo as a tattoo. When was the last time you saw a Toyota or GE or Intel tattoo? There may be a few Ford and Chevy tats out there, but nowhere near as many as the HD crowd. I love my NH, but I'm not about to run out and get a tattoo of it or the Honda logo.
