Yeah, part of my "preference" between the models was the price - I got
mine on ebay for $75 with no shipping costs incurred as I just had to
drive to Madison to pick it up (and was going there for work,
anyway). The windshield that came with the bike when I bought it was
similar in size and coverage, but broke in my, um, "incident" (which
also broke the headlight, dented the fuel tank, bent the left side
footpeg, broke the lens on the back left tail light, and put some road
scuffs in my jacket). Fortunately the lessons from my riding class
kicked in and saved more damage to myself and the bike, and the most
expensive fix was the windshield (though the dent is still in the
tank).

Given that the truth of the "incident" was not fully disclosed to my
wife (who is skeptical of me riding, anyhow), price was a big factor
in downplaying what happened, and as the windshied fit my bike, was
similar to what I had before, was barely used and was half the cost of
a new one, it was an easy decision.

Ironically, the source of the "incident" was gravel, which I saw was
the subject of a separate post a few days ago.
