All,
Just thought of one quick upgrade to any bike that can be
made in minutes and has proven very nice on my 1000 - a cramp buster:

Granted the one I have is metal and was added to the bike
sometime in the 80s but - the idea is the same.
Its great - you just lay your hand on the rest and it keeps
the throttle open - you don't have to grip the well, grip, and it
saves a lot of tension on the hand muscles.
There are numerous knock-offs and other brands - I don't
know that any one particular one is better or worse than another but I
would certainly recommend something along these lines for long trips.
