Mine used to tap a bit after it warmed up it was like that when I got it at 12K. It still runs great after another 30K of hard miles. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Mine has an identical tick, left hand side, aaaaaaaaaaaall the way out by the end of the cylinder head. I've popped the head cover off, cleaned up in there (needed to replace the leaky gasket anyway) and inspected the tappets, no apparent damage. I'd guess that as long as we aren't reefing on them hard before that tick goes away, we probably aren't hurting anything. It usually stays with me for 2-3 minutes, just long enough to helmet and glove up then ride to the entrance of the subdivision. When I pull the clutch lever in to downshift and come to a stop I hold it long enough for the engine to go back to idle, and it's gone. -Kurt On Sat, Jun 30, 2012 at 6:45 AM, Jaybird248 <[email protected]> wrote: > Something I've been wondering for a while.
