I ride with a modular now, but honestly my next one will be a solid full face. Not because of a safety concern but because I honestly don't /use/ the modular part of it as much as I thought I might and the solid helmets do tend to have better wind noise damping.
Really, any blow that does enough impact damage to break the latches of a modular or the chin bar would do serious damage to your neck and spine no matter which variety of helmet you're wearing. They'd have to be that freak upper-cut type damage, and that's going to snap your neck back hard if you have a chin bar at all, and shatter your jaw if you don't have one (as well as snapping your neck back, so...). Try both on, there ARE some differences in fit between the two, I've noticed. -Kurt On Tue, Jul 31, 2012 at 6:10 PM, Gibs <[email protected]> wrote: > Curious as to what ppl have to say about modular helmets.
