The only time I don't ride is in the snow and ice. But, fortunately, we have little of either in Christchurch. My bikes (two 700SC's) are all I have through my partner has a car which we use at times. Oh, and some bicycles which we're frequently on as well.

I'm lucky because of the weather in Hawaii but I know other people on this thred ride year round in places I would last for more than about 30 seconds walking down the street let alone on a bike. I don't see the bike as a luxury or "fun" to ride - although it is - they're my basic form of transportation first. In fact for about 2 years my wife and I had one car and the bike. My kids were 8, 10 and 12 at the time. Most people who own bikes ride a lot less then probably everyone in this group so we do have a different perspective. I'd say they were gutless in the torque department, probably had to be ridden like a two-stroke, and weren't available for terribly long. Two years, I think? Sean, Yeah, it's a rant, and it's a good one, but unfortunately outside of the touring/sport touring and cruiser segments, the market disagrees with you. A majority of riders are solo all the time, especially in the sport, super sport and dual sport markets. Adventure probably splits unevenly, solo being the heavier portion. Fact is a lot of people see that second seat as a convenience, not a necessity. I'll admit I'm solo 100% of the time on the bike; we tried it with the GF on the back, she didn't like it, so I don't push it. Perhaps we'll try again with a bigger bike, but I don't want her uncomfortable. -Kurt On Fri, Dec 28, 2012 at 3:33 PM, Joey Kelley <[email protected] <javascript:> > wrote: I should think so - at that size they must not have had much torque? -Joey On Fri, Dec 28, 2012 at 3:32 PM, Kurt Nolte <[email protected] <javascript:> > wrote: Joey, [The entire original message is not included.] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
