Honda's niche for the new 500 line is one of price. They've neatly slipped these bikes in between the 250-300 class and the Suzuki and Kawasaki 650 standards. In fact, you can buy a Honda 500 for barely more than a Kawasaki 300. This isn't the first time Honda undercut the market. In 1991, the company brought out our favorite bike, the NH750, for just $3995. The next lowest 750 was the Kawasaki Zephyr, at $500 more. That was a fortune in those days.
