Allen, I nosed around at the XJ for a few minutes this afternoon. The wires going into the TCI Unit according to the picture in the link you sent are nothing like the one I have. Maybe one or two of them are 'correct' on my bike. The rest are not and that can't be right. Anyway at least the bike is back on the lift and I'll start tinkering with it a little more seriously. I copied 15 pages from one of those links so I'll at least get to know the bike, Graham
