What year? If it is another 83-85 650 then you are in luck they have great
parts availability. You will need to clean the carbs, change fluids,
disassemble and clean the calipers and master cylinders, and clean all
electrical connectors. Brake lines should be replaced as the factory says
replace every 2 years. New tires would be required if they are more than 3
years old even if the look good as they will be hard and offer limited grip.
Other items could be fork seals, regulator/rectifier, replace battery. Expect
to put $500 into getting it caught up on maintenance, even if it looks mint.
Post up some pics when you get her. We can help you with any maintenance tasks.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Parts?

New to this group as of about ten seconds ago. Not new to Nighthawks, though.
I bought a new CB650SC in 1983 and rode it for about four years. It's a common
story, I know, but when I sold this bike, I was a father with young children.
Later today, I'll have another Nighthawk, I hope. A rare find, I think - a
mint bike with less than 5000 miles, which has been in storage for many years.
Anyone has any tips for me, I'd sure like to hear them! I know it's going to
need some attention for sure. I am particularly nervous about availability of
parts, should I need any. Would like to hear ideas about parts, too. Thanks!

EXCITED,

Miles
