The tank was solid rust. I got another one off eBay. The carbs were useless to - again, eBay. Then I had to clean those. I had the 'new' tank and side covers painted, bought decals and put them on and then had my painter clear coat again. I put new tires on, a new battery and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned - steel wool and polish. Dust, dirt and some corrosion, it pretty much all came off with steel wool and polish. The front brake system was full of 'tar' and that took some rebuilding but works good now. I took the rear wheel apart and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned - scrubbed the chain and then soaked it. Everywhere I could clean I did without taking the engine out of the frame. So It's nowhere near a true restoration.
