Fellas,

My house was leveled by the EF4 tornado in Washington IL. Sadly, my 1984cb650
did not fare well.

So, I may not be on here much longer.

Been looking for a drive sprocket. I can find 15t or 17t. Any comment on using
those vs the stock 16t?

If I'm not mistaken, 15 is stock for a 90s 750. 17 is good for a ~10%
reduction in RPM at speed. If you do a lot of highway with few hills, 17 is
a pretty good way to go. In city, stop-and-go I'd ...more

Just make sure your # of chain links isn't divisible by # of sprocket teeth.

That's what I thought too. I wouldn't recommend more that 1 up or down from
stock. It makes a fairly big difference. I'd think a 17 tooth would kill roll
on power.

17 does lower roll on power a bit, but not severely. If I rode hills more
often it would have been unbearable, but at speed it just meant I was
actually using downshifting to accelerate so I didn't ...more

It's hilly here, so I guess that affected my opinion. Anyway RMJ there you go.

So a 15 tooth is the best from a wear perspective but all of them are fine. The
worst would be a 17 tooth but that only has the same link contacting the same
tooth every 6.4 revolutions so its fine. ...more
