Hello, I also rode a 2007 Ninja 250 for about 3 years before I got my Nighthawk. It was very cold-blooded bike, and it didn't run well at all until warmed up. For some reason, when the engine was cold, it would have no torque, and unless I was very careful with clutch it would die when pulling away from a stop sign. I've put about 27,000 miles on that Ninja 250, and it has always done it. I adjusted valves two or three times, and rode the bike daily, so the carburetors were always clean, valves adjusted, and everything on the bike was in top shape as well.
I believe what you experience (engine dieing when pulling away from stop sign with cold engine) is normal. Just warm up your engine for a few minutes. As far as battery, check if your battery has little screw-caps at the top of the battery. If it does, then take a look and make sure that each cell in the battery has sufficient electrolyte. If the fluid is low, add some distilled water (you can get it at walmart for a buck or two per gallon). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
