I may suggest cleaning out your tank and treat it with Kreem. (Or Cream or something like that. It is a tank liner that will end your rust problem. Follow the directions carefully. There are more involved ways to truly clean the tank and then you won't need the Kreem, but the Kreem is the easiest I have used.
