Or you could get true redneck and just make struts from a length of pipe. I just measured the bikes. GS1000, CB750 1982, and 85 CB650 nighthawk are 13 inch eye to eye. 82 XJ650 is 12.5 and82 CB650 nighthawk is 14 inch.
