The people at Progressive are pretty timely on questions asked. Between
Amazon and ebay if they have them for your model, get the black springs and
the standard shock without springs for the best combo and cheapest cost:
for my NH 750, about $140 total shipped. And then get 2 tie downs straps,
on each side of the spring to compress it (or 3 would be better if they
fit.) Hint: the cheapest ones are the ones that say they don't fit your
model on Amazon or Ebay, and you KNOW they do by the Progressive model
number ;-)

A lot of handling and perceived mechanical problems disappeared when I got
them. Progressives and Nighthawks were made for each other. 1,000% better
than originals, well 20 year old originals anyway plus I needed heavy duty
for my weight! I was also at the top of the standard weight limit without
all my books (another 50 lbs), so I got the HD springs in that price too.
You can always adjust them down when you do not ride double or have cargo
if you are not 250 lb like me. I am one happy camper on that buy. And as
usual, I investigated it thoroughly until I got the money, ha ha.
