I wonder if it was common to replace the wiring setup on them then if it's not stock and kiwinPA has two that are the same. I believe you Kurt that it is not stock as I found the copy of the service manual and it is clear that the lead goes clear over to the left side. But yep, no problems yet.
I have read a lot of peoples issues where their CDI box went bad on this model of bike or other various electrical issues. Now that I have a battery tender I may just put the old battery in while I charge my new one if the new one ever seems like it's getting low. The old one didn't seem too old/bad, just very low on acid, and it not have been getting the current it needed to recharge from the bike in the long run. I notice here in Iowa (Ames) a lot of people do recognize my need for space and are considerate, giving me extra room than if I was in a car. Sometimes they don't pull up close enough to me at stoplights to trip the sensor. They get confused when I motion them forward a bit. Here is a video of my cold start this morning, an easy 59 degrees: http://youtu.be/uAyseO_Jx9U and after it warmed up: http://youtu.be/PGzXkZV65so -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
