Oh, and before I go: if by "backfire" you mean a popping noise in the
exhaust, it's not really backfiring. "Backfire" specifically refers to
combustion in the intake ("backwards firing" in other words) and is rather
more dangerous than combustion or popping in the exhaust. Popping noises in
the exhaust usually come from lean mixtures, which would add support to the
