I ride a Harley and a Honda. But I never wear wife beater's, don't even own one. And I admit I do have a half shell, but it's the DOT approved and I only wear it at bike week due to the loads of short trips that we take make it a much more convenient helmet. I am not a bit bashful sporting my HJC CJ16 full face, my SENA SMH10 or my leathers. Perhaps I'm more of a motorcycle junkie than some, if it's got two wheels and a motor and looks even remotely interesting, I wanna try to ride it, at least once. What did they used to say back in the 70's, "Don't knock it till you tried it". All I can say is "It's a completely different experience". And I'm with you on the gas cap thing, it's totally made me rethink my approach to the pump. :-) In a message dated 9/27/2014 7:46:12 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
The change at Harley was featured in Time magazine a while back. I'd like to test ride one. I have a Pontiac and a Buick in my driveway, but all Hondas in my garage. Why? I've always said that small, quiet, cheap, and reliable trumps heavy, loud, expensive, and unreliable every time. If Harley actually made a bike that rivaled my Hondas, what would I do? If I bought a small Harley, would I have to get a half-helmet, ride in a wife-beater muscle shirt, and have an American flag fluttering on the back of it? This leopard just couldn't change his spots. And I'll just add one inconsequential comment. Having the gas cap offset like that could make it less likely to have strong pumps flip gas back out and onto the tank, but the offset is to the right. I always gas up with the pump on my left, undoubtedly because that's where the filler tube in on my cars - force of habit. Harley seems to think that I should be approaching with the pump on my right. Hmm, maybe I should, being right-handed and all. But if I were on one of these, I would probably end up crossing the gas tank with the nozzle. Those durn spots... And Kurt, I was impressed that you knew about the earth mover market until you went and ruined it... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
