If you have ridden an ST1100 and a VFR I wouldn't waste my time with a 250. I know there are many listers who ride and love them. But IMHO the size and weight difference between a 250NH and a 500 cc bike are minimal but the 500 will be far better on a highway, safer too IMHO.
