A one year wonder 2013 Husky TR650 Strada which is a BMW G650 with a built top end w/USD forks and mags. I thought when it came down to $5,000, I'd be in the market (there are acres of them built somewhere in the world.) EFI on a single (start torque cruising range at 80mph) and Chinese built engines still turn me off. That and I'd have to back-cut my gears anyway - clunky gears not machined properly like the Nighthawk's which ARE backcut gears (its the same exact transmission as my 1997 F650.) I need to go test ride the Husky TR650 Strada soon (mine was it's grandfather, F650 ST(rada.). Rotax are great designed engines, but initially designed for carbs. It was supposed to be redesigned for EFI from F650 to G650 in 2009 I think, but BMW sent the engines to be built in China (killed G650 demand right off.) But other than a built high compression top end (premium gas only), Husky was supposed to also have a modified EFI. I'll be retrieving my BMW F650 soon, so I'll have to do a purchase or refurb analysis. It will cost me about $3K w/the backcut trans gears on my F650, so add $1K to the new price of the new TR650 for labor and services, which is probably a No Go for a tightwad like me). I don't really need USD forks for the street (I think - ??.) My nighthawk and either of these would be perfect in CA (well, plus my Elio for $6800 that I pay for at the pumps, when it comes out next year, lol.) I like 1990 motorcycles though, so it would be a culture shock if I did get the TR650 and then regretted it later wanting my F650 back! (post-purchase-cognitive-dissonance :-) Well, I want to ride the new built Husky anyway. It's almost 20 hp more (at higher rpms and compression.) A stock BMW F650 ST at the bottom like mine.
