Two years ago I had a Naked Wing (antique, 700 lbs, pristine condition)
shipped from Oregon to Atlanta). It arrived in the same pristine condition
due to the following:

It was ratchet-strapped (not tied) to a pallet, upright with neither stand
deployed. One strap placed under the fender and over the rear tire with
the rear shock slightly depressed. Two straps, one each attached to the
handlebars with the front shocks slightly depressed. It rode in a
tractor-trailer over 3,000+ miles, routed thru Seattle to Atlanta, and
arrived without a scratch.

Don't over think it. As long as there's nothing near to fall on it, it'll
ride stable throughout, providing it's properly secured.
