Thanks for the reply. There are small "engine guards" that were available 
for this bike, which is what I may end up getting. It's more about 
protecting the bike (and me) at this point than having a place to mount 
highway pegs. I'll even consider having stock aftermarket highway bars 
modified to fit onto the bike, if it comes to that. I'd be open to 
suggestions along that line, as well.
