Well it was true of my particular 700S but it makes sense. These bikes run
naturally lean from the factory so any more airflow would just make it
leaner, that's why deleting the airbox isn't recommended. I'm not saying it
wouldn't run with the K&N, it would, but that midrange flatspot was more
pronounced. However high end power was noticeably better so I felt it was
worth keeping. I did lose a few MPGs doing it, but I still get Prius
mileage without having to be seen driving a Prius ;)
