With the motor off if you put it in 3rd gear and spin the tire, does the
engine turn over? Pull the plugs to make it easier. If it does spin the
motor have someone pull in the clutch. It should disengage the engine. If
you have issues getting the bike in gear rotate the wheel while operating
the shifter. If everything works as expected try it in all the gears to
isolate the problem. You might have a bad gear/shift fork.
