Hey Josh, welcome to Honda Nighthawks, truly an international forum. I have had several 1983 nighthawk 550s. If after half an hour of riding the battery is flat, then it is most likely the charging system, a common weakness on the 550. That will probably entail replacement stator and regulator, easy to do, not sure of the availability any more. Others will tell you. Where are you and what is the asking price for the bike? Graham
