Take it from me, there's almost nothing as comfortable, and the Wings were built from the ground up for going the distance. I have a GL1500 and have highway pegs that are wonderfully comfortable.
The 1800 can install highway pegs too, they're just mounted a little lower due to the fairing and motor configuration. You should definitely check into it.
