The main reason I am trying to tighten up the front while putting off a complete fork rebuild, which I don't have all the necessary tools for, is because most my workspace is taken up with my 84 700s, which I've removed the valve cover from in order to get at the cam chain tensioner which may or may not be sticking loose a bit at very low rpm. There is a slight rpm correlating rattle while accelerating from a stop, but only under load, not when simply revving in neutral. However once I got the cover off I found the underside had clearcoat flaking off, and most likely contaminating the chamber right? Old bike project Waiting on new gasket, since it was leaking just a bit, and trying figure out how to proceed with fixing the clearcoat mess.
Long story short, I don't have a ton of work space, and also would like at least one to be whole and rideable. The 650 is rideable but the diving during most braking doesn't inspire much confidence while dealing with portland traffic, so I was hoping I could at least make it safe while the 700s is under the knife. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
