Glen, my 92 had a noticeable flat spot at around 4k-5k if I remember correctly. The washer mod removed it, and like Javier stated better mid throttle roll on. I later did a rejet along with the washer mod and milage dropped about 2 mpg. Not enough to worry about IMHO. On my GS however installing larger jets actually increased gas milage.
