Good evening ladies and gents. So here is my latest problem,
I removed the starter( I believe correctly) From my 1983 nh cb650sc, took it apart, rebuilt it, tested it on my table and it worked. I then proceeded to reinstall it in my bike in the exact reverse order that i removed it. I hit the start button after turning the key, the starter began to spin but did not engage the starter clutch gears, which in turn did not engage the flywheel. Therefore, it did not work. I took the thing apart again and it all looks right. The starter spins ccw, the gear i believe it goes into spins cw, so...here are my questions. A) Am I in too far and therefore not engaging the gears? B) Am I not in Far enough. C) can i or should i attempt to shim it. D) was i incorrect in removing the starter the way the clymer manual told me and am i going. e) what determines the rotation of the starter, is the brush orientation incorrect. Finally, what do i do now? I need help guys and gals Sincerely, Ray Gomez Grand Rapids,OH -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
