@Tommy, Ha, I gotta share that with my co-worker. He bought an Aprillia after many years on MotoGuzzi bikes. He kept the last MotoGuzzi, but alas, got rid of the wife instead. Anyway, he'll get a kick out of that, as did I.
@Javier, That may work. I have never been too good at playing the emotional attachment card, but it applies. I'll start mentally working myself up to that. @DJfireUSA, In truth, I typically write off bikes that fall into the v-twin cruiser category, which that appears to be. However, on further study I stand corrected. It apparently is a more vertical ride position, which implies it could have the secondary highway pegs forward too (an important option). It also seems pretty small-ish, like I was looking for. It would also be a closer visual match to my wife's cruiser (Kaw. Vulcan). You have given me exactly what I was looking for, a good distraction from the PC800 tunnel vision I was getting. I will try to find one to test ride. With proper outfitting it may be a great replacement. Consider my wife and I going down the road in a Vulcan and a PC800 together ... Ha, I can see that! I guess it more closely represents the differences in our personalities. SO, is this forum anything like the NPR radio show "Car Talk"? I mean can I come here with interpersonal issues thinly veiled as mechanical questions? Anyway, I have not told my wife that one of the destinations I had in mind for the first leg of our trip, which is on HER birthday, is to try to get a test ride on a PC800 in Portland, OR area. I may not take that opportunity. We would essentially be spending her birthday checking out a new ride for ME!
