As you've seen the GS family is veeeery popular right now. I guess that's the reason why Honda is offering a lot of adventure bikes right now: cb500x, nc750x, crosstourer... Try to fill the tank in Spain, Portugal is abot 25% more expensive :S Be careful with mobile speed radars (not fixed ones). I traffice cops (here called Guardia Civil de tráfico) stops you because of speed limit, due the fact that you're a tourist, you'll have to pay the fine in the moment, with cash or credit card. If not, they will retain the bike. South Spain is the main attraction to do some tourism, but the the north is motorcycle's heaven. You've plenty of curvy roads and nicer (greener) views than in Andalucia. If you've time try to visit the Costa cantábrica and eve the Pirineos (between Spain and France). I don't know where you've rented the bike, but I'm pretty sure that there places in Spain and Portugal where you can rent something like a Honda Crosstourer 1200, or even a Varadero; both, vibrations = 0.
