Canadian bears must like vehicles. When I took my family through BC we
were on a 90 kilometer dirt road, I thought the sign said 9 kilometers but
it truly was one of the best parts of our trip. Anyway, we rounded a
corner to find a brown bear sitting in the middle of the road. He looked
at us like "what are you doing here" got up and ambled into the bushes. It
was amazing and my kids were really excited. I wanted to jump out and take
pictures but my wife stopped me - I guess she didn't want me to get eaten.

On my motorcycle trip on Victoria BC island I had a cougar, or so a friend
from there told me it probably was, run across the road about 100 feet in
front of me. Very cool and got the pulse rate up. I didn't think about
stopping that time....
