Thanks for the reply, Allen.
I agree with you about the added modifications somewhat.
I do like the all black look of the 700S pictured above, but I also
like the stock look.
I did find some sources that had the bulb, but they wanted about 180
bucks for them.
E-Bay did have some used ones for about 40, but were sold out.
In my humble opinion, I think Honda should've stuck with a standard
automotive bulb instead of the proprietary one.
Interestingly enough, the manufacturer (Stanley) is about a half hour
from where I live.
Yeah, I really like the bike. Handles very well.
I did see another one on Craigslist for about 700 bucks. It even came
with a Hondaline low profile rear backrest/luggage rack that I had
been looking for. Thought about getting that one for a parts bike, or
using the one I have now as a parts bike if the other is in better
condition.
Bought this one last year sort of on impulse from a neighbor down the
street who had just put it out on his drive the same day.
Was riding what was my Dad's '82 Suzuki GS1100GK before this one but sold it.
To be honest, I was hotdogging it on a curvy road not too far from my
house and going too fast for a curve. A car was coming the other
direction while I was almost dragging my knee hugging the center
yellow line and had to pull up on my lean and consequently lost
control and ended up out in a wet mucky field and laid it down. I'm
thankful that I wasn't hurt more than I was with a sore neck, stoved
wrist and cuts on my knee. It happened on April Fools Day of all days.
LOL
Appreciate your advice. :-)
