Those were stock plastic side pieces, but I did drop my bike putting it up
on side rear stand in the dark, dammit. I did happen to get snakeskin in
link above (but I paid more at Revzilla, $60). It's a cool kit, top center,
sides, and plastic sides (what you thought were Snakeskins - click the 2nd
icon below the main pic of the material shot to see all the pieces.) I
think it's pretty cool :-o

Basically, you just a heater or hair dryer to remove old pads, wash it real
good, center it, hold your breath (like you are squeezing a trigger), and
apply it. I've found out it's hard to be perfect, and no one can tell
anyway. Snakeskin's are supposed to be easy to remove which I'd rather use
a heater to remove, but... I think they are the best now and what all the
people with sharp eyes are zeroing in on ;-) Plus they are the best
utilization material for padding and friction for knee pads.

Since I'm still going to use my Versys middle tank pad, I'm going to cut
the Snakeskin center tank and put it on my side plates that get wore by my
3 seat pad straps. I was hoping to do soon, so I'll show them and my
make-shift repair on my tank (Snakeskin pads and clear fingernail polish -
that or $350 from a professional painter, lol.)

If that link above has yours, they are the absolute cheapest I've seen and
they also carry Hepco Becker parts too, so they are a reputable vendor.
I'll try to do mine real soon.
