Wow. My 91 750 sits for 3 weeks sometimes and I have no issues with fueling at
all. Lucky me?

My 2003 Nighthawk 750 gets stuck floats if I leave it for more than a week
without riding it. I've had the carbs rebuilt and synchronized, and I switched
to ethanol-free fuel, but it remains to be an issue. It just demands to be
ridden at least once a week.

To resolve the issue, I suggest dumping a can of Seafoam or other carb cleaner
in the tank after siphoning as much old fuel out as possible and then top it
off with fresh fuel. Then tap the carbs with a screwdriver handle to see if
you can free the stuck floats. If none of that helps, the surefire way I've
gotten the floats unstuck is to strap the motorcycle to a trailer and take it
for a drive. All the bounding around helps free up the floats. Your only
other option is to ride it, putting fresh clean fuel in the tank as often as
possible. The dripping gas seems dangerous, but when it happens to my bike, it
only drips gas at idle. With the throttle open, it seems to stop dripping gas.

Was thinking about picking up another Nighthawk. I have a thing for this bike.
My wife will think I'm crazy. I'd have 2! Anyway only issue with this bike is
drips fuel from carb when bike is running. Owner says he put new needles in
but still having the issue. Only 13k miles so nice bike but he's stumped and I
don't want to have to replace the carbs. Any ideas? Does not drip when bike
is sitting. Petcock seems to be working as it should. Thanks!
