A friend of mine bought a really old KTM that he decided to tour on.  
Clearly no racks available.  He built a rack for his bike out of carbon 
fiber - he's a graphic designer and also builds models of the stuff he's 
designing as part of his job so he's good at building stuff.  However, a 
lot of the people on this forum could probably build something like that.  
I've looked at my bike (96 750) and thought about it.  I'm not that good 
and it would probably not work but it would be a fun project.
