I did get one working petcock out of the two that I had by mixing and 
matching parts.  The vacuum diaphragm kept leaking on one, even though all 
of the rubber looked perfect to the eye.  I switched it out with the other 
petcock that I hadn't yet chemically cleaned and it's working now...
