Kyle, just wanted to say thanks again. Fortunately it was not the ignition switch, but the plug that goes into the fuse panel. I'm afraid the bolts that hold the ignition switch in place are stripped and impossible to remove cleanly.
I cleaned the contact with some electrical cleaner and it started right up. I could see some melted plastic from one side of the plug. Do I need to get a new plug and remove the old one, or is the current plug good to go? Also, I am certain that my fuse panel was installed upside down... The fuse cover, when removed, gives no access to the fuses. Instead I must remove the whole shroud to find the fuses lower and behind the brake line union. I suppose it would be beneficial to remove all plugs, 180 the fuse panel, and the reinstall all the plugs with electric grease. But it's so hard to get those plugs out! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
