My question would be why are you removing all those parts to get the carbs off? Unless your 84 is way different than my 83 650 I just unscrewed the bands around the rubber parts at the back of the carbs connecting to the air box and worked the rubber parts off to give me lots of room to pull the carbs. I've used this method twice with limited swearing. Forgive me if I've misunderstood what your trying to do.
